Experience life in Madrid as a Saint Louis University student!

Beyond your classes, there’s so much to do. Whether it be competing in a soccer league, debating current events or bringing Shakespeare to life on stage, you have hundreds of activities to pursue on and off campus:

  • Play league soccer or volleyball or compete in tennis.
  • Hike along ancient Roman roads in the nearby Guadarrama mountains.
  • Learn to play the Spanish guitar or sing your heart out with our concert choir.
  • Serve the city with our community outreach programs like Community ESL or Bocatalk.
  • Discover your voice and publish your work in our creative writing magazine, Raices y Ramas.
  • Be a campus leader through our Student Government Association or our Campus Ambassador Leadership program.
  • Get to know the Prado museum, one room at a time.

    Fernando Abilleira is the deputy mission manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which is overseeing the mission that also will test technologies that address the challenges of human expeditions to Mars.

Whether on your own or with SLU-Madrid, you will be able to experience Spain, the rest of Europe, and beyond with Spain as your home base.

  • Many academic courses incorporate study trips to destinations in Spain and Europe to enhance your understanding of concepts explored in the classroom.
  • The Office of Student Life sponsors day and weekend excursions and can provide you with insider tips if you’d prefer to travel on your own.
  • Madrid’s Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, connected to the city by metro, makes it easy to take direct flights to cities all over Europe and beyond: Rome, Paris, London, Athens, Marrakech and more.
