How to Apply
Admission to SLU-Madrid is based on a review of the following items:
Apply through our free online application. When you register on the application portal, select "Madrid" when prompted to choose "type of prospective student." Current Saint Louis University students from the St. Louis campus who want to study abroad in Madrid must speak with the Office of International Services and apply through the SLU study abroad program portal.
Some U.S. universities have partnership agreements with SLU-Madrid. Check with the study abroad office at your university before applying or email at studyabroad-madrid@slu.edu.
Deadlines for non-Saint Louis University applicants who require a Spanish student visa:
- Fall: April 1
- Spring: Sept. 1
- Summer Sessions: March 1
Deadlines for non-Saint Louis University applicants who don't require a Spanish student visa:
- Fall: Aug. 1
- Spring: Dec. 1
- Summer Sessions: April 15
As part of the online application, you will be asked to write a 500-word essay. The topic is indicated on the online application and can be uploaded to the application or sent by email to admdocs-madrid@slu.edu.
Official college transcripts must be submitted directly by your home institution to admdocs-madrid@slu.edu.
Non-Saint Louis University students whose schools do not have a partnership agreement
will need their home institution to submit an authorization form. Your study abroad/academic advisor must approve the program and recommend students
to study abroad at Saint Louis University — Madrid. Once approved, your study abroad/academic
advisor at your home institution will need to scan and electronically submit the completed
form to your SLU-Madrid study abroad counselor (admdocs-madrid@slu.edu). Students who do not complete the form will not be accepted into the program.
Non-native English speakers must send proof of university-level academic English in
order to be placed into the appropriate course. Please consult our English language requirements page for more information.
