by Isaiah Voss

SLU-Madrid accounting and finance professor Laura Muro has been granted a sabbatical leave for the fall 2022 semester to be an honorary fellow at the Hanken Centre for Accounting, Finance, and Governance in Finland (Hanken Centre).

Muro will be working on a research project titled "The path towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. An analysis of the determinants of Impact Investment: A Study of European Investment Funds." She will collaborate with the director of the Hanken Centre, Dr. Othmar M. Lehner, fellow SLU-Madrid professor Paolo Saona, and SLU-Madrid student Leo Borders on this project. As an honorary fellow, she is invited to attend in-person and online seminars to further her research.

Dr. Lehner describes the Hanken Centre as "A forum for robust and theoretically substantiated research that aims to solve practical accounting, finance and commercial law related problems in organizations and the larger society."

The SLU-Madrid community is eager to see what Muro finds during her time with the Hanken Centre.
