SLU-Madrid to Welcome Over 1,100 Spring 2023 Students

With record enrollment, the Madrid Campus community prepares for students' arrival and adjustment to life in Spain at Welcome Sessions.

SLU-Madrid's Student Affairs team, formerly known as the Office of Student Life, has planned events to help familiarize students with the city of Madrid and Spanish culture.

Arrival Information & Welcome Sessions

Tuesday, Jan. 10

Host Family Move-in Day

SLU-Madrid First-Year and Transfer Student Welcome Party

Wednesday, Jan. 11

Study-Abroad Student Welcome Sessions
Check-in: 9:15-10 a.m. at San Ignacio Hall

New and Transfer Student Welcome Sessions
Check-in: 9:45-10 a.m. at San Ignacio Hall

Friday, Jan. 13

Spring 2023 Welcome Ceremony
1 p.m. — Pablo VI Auditorium (Paseo Juan XXIII, 3)

Day Trips, On-campus Activities & Workshops

After the first day of classes on Thursday, Jan. 12, the Student Affairs invites students to join on-campus workshops. Topics include getting a public transportation card, traveling around Europe and dealing with culture shock.

Day-trip destinations include historic cities Salamanca and Segovia, and tours around Madrid.

A mandatory safety presentation for new U.S. students will be held by representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Spain and Andorra at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., Friday, Jan. 13, in the San Ignacio Hall Auditorium.
