SLU-Madrid Celebrates Student Excellence at Spring 2026 Awards Ceremony
Saint Louis University-Madrid recognized students and their achievements on May 8, celebrating academic achievement, leadership and service across the campus community.
Laurie Mazzuca, vice rector for academics, honored members of the class of 2026 as well as faculty and staff award recipients. Rector William Johnson delivered welcoming remarks before presenters recognized award recipients across academic departments and student life categories.
The evening began with the recognition of graduation honors recipients, including 19 students graduating cum laude, 14 magna cum laude and four summa cum laude.
Additional awards recognized excellence in academics, leadership and community engagement. Award recipients included:
- Nicholas Passaro — Student Leader Award
- Carlos Lindo — Student Athlete of the Year Award and Business Excellence in International Business
- Carolina Fields — Admissions Excellence Award and Outstanding Student Award in International Studies
- Leticia Mondada — Outstanding Performance in Communication
- Namita Chawla — Outstanding Academic Performance in Psychology
- Adela Corral Jaramillo — Women's & Gender Studies Award for Academic Excellence and Activism and Outstanding Academic Performance in History
- Sophia DiSantis — Outstanding Student Award in Political Science
- Noella Connor — Premio de Excelencia Académica in Spanish
- Asma Yaiche — Outstanding Academic Performance in Math and Computer Science
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Spirit of the Billiken Award to Namita Chawla and Grace Miclot.
