Sahin K. Ozdemir, Ph.D. of Saint Louis University’s School of Science and Engineering Named a Highly Cited Researcher for 2024

The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at Saint Louis University (SLU) proudly recognizes that Dr. Sahin K. Ozdemir, Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named to the prestigious Highly Cited Researchers 2024 list by Clarivate. This distinction places Ozdemir, Ph.D., among the top 1% of cited researchers worldwide, underscoring his profound influence in electrical and computer engineering.

As a globally recognized leader in quantum optics and non-Hermitian physics, Ozdemir, Ph.D., brings decades of expertise to SLU. His pioneering research in quantum photonics, non-Hermitian physics, and micro/nano-photonics has solidified his reputation as a thought leader in these dynamic areas. Before joining SLU, Ozdemir, Ph.D., held academic positions at Pennsylvania State University, Washington University in St. Louis, Osaka University in Japan, and The Graduate University for Advanced Studies in Japan.

Ozdemir was named to the list for his highly cited publications for the sixth consecutive year.  His research work focuses on cutting-edge fields like quantum optics and quantum information processing, micro/nano photonics, and non-Hermitian physics. He has secured numerous research grants from prominent agencies, including the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Army Research Office (ARO), and the National Science Foundation (NSF). [SO1] In addition, Ozdemir, Ph.D. holds eight patents, has published over 170 peer-reviewed papers, and is a frequent speaker at international conferences.
