Sahin Ozdemir, Ph.D., Receives $1.7M Army Research Award
Sahin Ozdemir, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Saint Louis University, was awarded a four-year Army Research Office award.
The award of approximately $1.7 million will fund Ozdemir’s project “Midwave Infrared Single Photon Detection via Quantum Non-Demolition.” This is a multi-PI project, led by Michigan Technological University, to develop mid-IR single photon sources and detectors that measure the number of photons in a quantum light without destroying the photons — a technique known as Quantum Non-Demolition measurement.
