Vasit Sagan, Ph.D., Receives Five-year National Science Foundation Award
Vasit Sagan, Ph.D., was awarded a five-year National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (IUCRC) award.
Sagan is a professor of earth, environmental and geospatial sciences and computer science at SLU’s School of Science and Engineering and SLU’s associate vice president for geospatial science. In addition to his roles at SLU, Sagan is chief scientist for food security and digital agriculture at Taylor Geospatial Institute.
Sagan’s Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers award of $500,000 award will fund for his project titled “Saint Louis University: Center for Accurate Georeferencing of the Environment (CAGE).”
This research project is in collaboration with Ohio State University (OSU) and Purdue University-Lafayette, with a total award value of $2.25 million, and it will establish the IUCRC for Accurate Georeferencing of the Environment (CAGE) across SLU, OSU and Purdue.
