Fresh Gatherings
Eat Locally. Impact Globally. Fresh Gatherings Cafe is a student-run cafe that offers local farm-fresh food, including some vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, in Saint Louis University’s Allied Health Professions Building.
About Us
Fresh Gatherings Cafe + Farm is a student-run cafe operated by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Saint Louis University. We are located on the ground level of the Allied Health Building on Saint Louis University’s South Campus.
Our goal is to be the gold standard of dining on SLU’s campus by providing our community with fresh made meals from scratch daily. We partner with local farms and vendors from the St. Louis and Illinois area to offer our customers with the highest quality ingredients available. Our menu rotates seasonally allowing you to enjoy a variety of hot and cold breakfast items, full service coffee and espresso bar, "Grab-and-Go" items, and daily lunch specials. Stop by and see us and join in our pursuit of delicious food and elevated dining right on campus.
Our team, which is overseen by members of Saint Louis University’s Nutrition and Dietetics faculty, is comprised of students from a diverse range of majors and culinary backgrounds. We take pride that our kitchen is a space that fosters creativity, educational opportunities and encourages teamwork in order to share our culinary explorations with our customers.
Breakfast and Lunch Options
Start the day off with a breakfast burrito made with traditional breakfast ingredients or pick a to-go item. Each day at lunch you can purchase items from the pre-made "Grab-and-Go" coolers. Additionally, an ever-changing list of specials, including main dishes and sides, fill your craving for a home-cooked meal.
Students who work at Fresh Gatherings receive the opportunity to gain professional experience in the culinary field. Daily specials often showcase the delicious foods that have been prepared in Doisy College culinary classes.
Bakery and Coffee
Across the cafe, you will find an assortment of delicious baked goods created by the staff. The bakery offers another learning opportunity for students, who gain culinary knowledge in the art of creating the perfect muffins, pastries, bagels and more.
Perhaps most importantly, especially for those who struggle to get moving in the morning, Fresh Gatherings offers coffee. We partner with local roasters Blueprint Coffee for your daily caffeine fix. Check in with Fresh Gathering’s Instagram to get information on the current offerings.
Payment Options
Fresh Gatherings accepts credit and debit cards, as well as Flex and Billiken Bucks. We are a cash free business.
Meal swipes are honored from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both our Allied Health Building and Education Union locations. Purchase any items at Fresh Gatherings Cafe + Farm with a meal wwipe up to $7. Anything over $7 can be paid for using flex, cash or card. Students may use ONE meal swipe per day at ONE location.
Dietary Accomodations
We offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Allergens including dairy, eggs, fish, gluten, peanuts, soy and tree nuts are used in our kitchen. Therefore, we can not guarantee that menu items are free from cross-contamination, however, we try to ensure all products are clearly labeled.
