SLU LAW Adds Alex Miller as Assistant Director of the Wefel Center for Employment Law
Saint Louis University School of Law is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Miller as an instructor of law and assistant director of the William C. Wefel Center for Employment Law. In his role, Miller will perform a variety of duties and provide direction and administrative oversight to the center’s activities in concert with the dean’s office and the center’s faculty director. He brings with him an extensive career as a government attorney.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Wefel Center for Employment Law,” said Alex Miller. “For many years, the center has played a critical role in bringing scholarship to this quickly evolving practice area. I am honored to join SLU LAW’s incredible faculty and look forward to building on the center’s remarkable legacy.”

With a broad background in government and corporate business, including in compliance at Wells Fargo, Miller has served in a variety of roles during his legal career that make him uniquely qualified to serve the center.
“I am so pleased to welcome Alex Miller to SLU LAW”, said Michael Duff, professor and director of the William C. Wefel Center for Employment Law. “His broad legal and administrative experience, gained during a productive career as a federal attorney, will serve us well. That deep experience, coupled with Alex's warm and collegial personal qualities, will help us coordinate our activities and interface effectively with students, alumni, and the broader community. His help will be especially valuable as we chart a course through uncertain and even chaotic times in labor and employment law, drawing on the best traditions of Jesuit values and justice."
Miller holds a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a master’s in political science and government from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He obtained his bachelor’s from Illinois Wesleyan University.
The William C. Wefel Center for Employment Law was founded in 1987 and is one of the few law schools that offers an extensive curriculum to provide students with the foundation for successful practice in the area of employment law. Faculty members are renowned for their scholarship and expertise in the field.
