Academic Success Expert Goldie Pritchard Joins SLU Law Faculty
Saint Louis University School of Law is pleased to announce the appointment of Goldie Pritchard to the faculty as the assistant dean for teaching and learning. Pritchard’s 17 years of experience leading academic success programs will enhance the law school’s efforts to support student learning, foster academic excellence, and prepare graduates for success on the bar exam and beyond.
Pritchard joins the faculty from Michigan State University College of Law, where she most recently served as the assistant dean of the academic success program and adjunct professor. She also held roles as the director and co-director of the program and the director of the legal opportunity program, which focused on conditional admissions at Michigan State. She has won several awards for her work from the Association of Academic Support Educators, including the Committee Leadership Award, the Academic Support Program (ASP) Inspirational Award, which celebrates colleagues who uplift the ASP community through collaboration, compassion, and creativity, and unwavering commitment to students and colleagues, and the Guiding Light Award that recognizes a member of the community who consistently serves as a source of guidance, wisdom, and support for others in ASP/Bar Studies.
“Assistant Dean Pritchard is a widely respected leader in the academic success community, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the SLU LAW faculty,” said Dean Twinette Johnson. “Her expertise in teaching, learning, and bar preparation comes at a pivotal moment for legal education. As our students prepare to be in the cohort of those first taking the NextGen Bar Exam, her leadership and deep understanding of evolving assessment strategies will be invaluable.”
Pritchard has written and presented extensively on academic support, bar exam preparation, and access to the legal profession. She began her career as an international development consultant.
“Joining SLU Law as assistant dean for teaching and learning is an incredible honor,” said Pritchard of her appointment. “I am genuinely excited to partner with faculty, staff, and students to expand pathways to academic excellence. I look forward to bringing my passion for andragogy and academic and bar support to a community that values every student’s potential.”
Pritchard holds a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education from Grand Valley State University, a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
