SLU-Madrid Hosts "World of Change" Conference
Saint Louis University-Madrid hosts 39 speakers from eight countries to discuss media, politics, identity and culture.
SLU-Madrid is currently hosting World of Change: All That Melts Into Air Is Solid, an international academic conference that began Oct. 1 and continues through Oct. 3. The event brings together 39 speakers from eight countries: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Throughout the three-day program, scholars are sharing insights on media, politics, culture, identity and technology. Sessions feature speakers from institutions including Rutgers University, New York University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University College London, the University of California San Diego, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the University of Oregon.
"What a fantastic, provocative and timely theme," said SLU-Madrid Rector and Vice President William Johnson, J.D. "I am also grateful to our two keynote speakers and to each of the speakers for your time and your commitment for being here."
SLU-Madrid’s Department of Communication sponsored and organized the program. Special thanks were extended to Brian Goss, Ph.D., and Rosana Vivar, Ph.D., for their leadership and contributions in making the gathering possible.
With discussions spanning digital activism, European cinema, global power shifts and identity politics, World of Change underscores SLU-Madrid's role as a hub for international dialogue and academic exchange.
