Part-time Opportunities
The labor market in Spain is very different from the labor market in the United States. While your TIE (Spanish residency card) allows you to work up to 30 hours a week, formal part-time jobs for young people are uncommon.
Many students pursue opportunities as a language teacher, childcare services provider or through university scholarship-based positions (DSS program).
Interested in childcare services and teaching opportunities near campus? Stop by the Career Services Office to get more information or email us at careers-madrid@slu.edu.
Departmental Support Scholarships
All students may apply for a Departmental Support Scholarship (DSS) through the financial aid department.
Students perform administrative tasks in various departments — such as the library, bookstore, computer labs, Student Life or Office of Admissions — and receive tuition discounts.
Please contact financial aid directly to find out how to apply for these positions.
Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way to network before interning in Spain! For volunteer opportunities, please contact Sharrad Belin in Student Life at sharrad.belin@slu.edu.
