Marketing and Communications Support

The marketing and communications team at Saint Louis University-Madrid supports the units, departments and programs at SLU-Madrid, including digital content, social media, photography, video, merchandising and more.

Start a Project

Do you need help getting a project started? The marketing and communications department can assist you.

If you need help with a design or video project, would like to update the webpage, or wish to request that photographs be taken at an event you are holding, please fill out the Project Request form.

Website

The website is essential to the University as it represents what we do to future and current members of our community.

Every webpage should be up-to-date and display correct information. Faculty, staff, and departments are responsible for revising their webpages, while the webmaster ensures compliance with University policies and a marketing focus. SLU-Madrid departments and units must also adhere to proper style for their website content. Find information about SLU-related terms, people and places in the SLU Style Guide

Social Media

Social media is a key component of SLU-Madrid's communication strategy, helping us connect with prospective and current students, alumni, and the broader community. Our social media presence reflects our values of academic excellence, Jesuit principles, and the multicultural vibrancy of Madrid.

Publication on Our Social Networks

SLU-Madrid provides you with the opportunity to publish events that align with the principles and values of our institution on our official social networks:

Photo and Video

The department can lend the equipment needed for photography and/or video recording, as well as offer advice. You may also request that a member of the marketing and communications team take photos of an event you are hosting.

To make requests related to photography and/or video recording, fill out the Project Request form and mark the option "Fotografía/Photography" or "Vídeo/Video", as needed.

GDPR Authorization

In accordance with that established in the General Data Protection Regulation of Personal Data (GDPR), if you are going to take photos or record video where members of the SLU-Madrid community appear (including our visitors), and you are going to use this material for any publication, you must download the authorization to be signed and sent to the Department of Marketing and Communications. The Department of Marketing and Communications must have the authorization of individuals photographed or videoed on file in order to publish/post the project.

Design and Printing

The MarCom department can help you create your designs and prints, ensuring they align with SLU-Madrid's branding guidelines and effectively communicate your message.

Whether you need assistance with brochures, posters, or digital graphics, our team is here to support you with expert design and printing services.

If you are creating your own designs, here are some tips:

  • Distill your message to core elements. Keep your audience engaged by using large headlines, a single image, and short, direct copy.
  • The use of simple iconography and large numbers visually communicates information in a way that draws readers’ attention.
  • Establish a bold look. Bold, unembellished use of typography and color can effectively set the tone of any communication.
  • Less copy is more effective. Bold typography and direct content are most effective in communicating a clear and concise message, making legibility a priority.

Merchandising

If your department or staff needs any type of merchandise for internal or external promotion, please contact us at angel.garcia@slu.edu. We are here to support your promotional efforts with high-quality branded materials.

Become a Model

SLU-Madrid is always looking for students to participate as models in our promotional materials. If you are interested in representing the vibrant community of SLU-Madrid in our website, brochures, and social media, we would love to hear from you!
