We also produce future leaders in research, education and policy. HCOR doctoral students
lead research in a diverse set of areas, including diabetes, health disparities, oncology,
and mental health. Our MS in Health Data Science students are prepared to blend, synthesize
and communicate data for use in clinical decisions by patients and providers as well
as advancing quality improvement efforts across health systems.
HCOR faculty come from diverse backgrounds with expertise in epidemiology, survey
design, statistics, and health data science.

Message from the Chair
Welcome to the Department of Health and Clinical Outcomes Research! The mission of
HCOR is to serve as the collaborative bridge between divisions, departments, and colleges/schools
across medicine and the health sciences to support methodologically rigorous research
to solve complex health problems. HCOR is a scholarly community of faculty staff,
and students committed to strengthening the delivery and outcomes of medical care
through education and training programs, innovative research, and consulting services.
The Department of Health and Clinical Outcomes Research houses degree programs in
Health Data Science and Health Outcomes Research. Our students leave prepared to address
the complex problems in today’s data-driven health care industry.
