Genomics Core Facility

The Saint Louis University Genomics and Bioinformatics Core Facility provides state-of-the-art single-cell genomics and integrative bioinformatics services to both internal and external researchers. Utilizing advanced platforms like 10x Genomics for single-cell library preparation, we deliver high-resolution data to drive meaningful discovery across a wide range of biological questions.

Whether you’re new to genomics or an experienced researcher, our team is here to support your project from start to finish. We offer comprehensive services — from experimental design and library construction to data analysis and interpretation — making complex genomics research accessible, efficient and impactful.

Available Services

Single Cell Sequencing Technologies

Single-cell sequencing empowers researchers to explore tissue-specific and cell type–specific biological questions by analyzing gene expression and epigenetic profiles at the resolution of individual cells. We utilize the 10x Genomics Chromium X platform to generate high-quality single cell preparations for a wide range of standard 10x Genomics workflows, including:

  • 3′ Single Cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq)
  • Single Cell Immune Profiling
  • Fixed RNA Gene Expression (Flex)
  • Single Cell ATAC-seq (scATAC-seq)
  • Single Cell Multiome (combined RNA + ATAC)

The core will take your experiments from cells to final library, which can be submitted to external sequencing providers. We also assist with submission to external sequencing providers and can guide you through raw data transfer, processing, and downstream analysis — ensuring your data is ready for further exploration or publication.

Nucleic Acid Quality Analysis

High-quality genomic data starts with high-quality input materials and well-prepared libraries. We offer precise quantification and quality assessment of total RNA, cDNA, and DNA libraries using two instruments:

  • Qubit Fluorometer: Provides sensitive and accurate quantification of RNA and DNA concentrations, ensuring optimal input amounts for downstream applications.
  • Agilent Bioanalyzer: Delivers detailed analysis of RNA integrity and DNA size distribution, critical for assessing sample quality and library preparation success.

Bioinformatic Analysis

We offer data processing and custom analysis services for a range of genomic data types, including:

  • Bulk and single-cell RNA-seq
  • Bulk and single-cell ATAC-seq
  • ChIP-seq
  • CutandRun
  • CutandTag

Our support includes:

  • Tailored analysis based on your experimental design
  • Assistance with data visualization and figure generation
  • Guidance and support for submitting data to public repositories such as GEO

We welcome opportunities for collaboration and are available to work closely with you throughout your project. Our goal is to ensure your data is processed, analyzed, and presented with accuracy and clarity.
