Marta King, M.D., MEd, is a a hospitalist specializing in general inpatient pediatric care, medical education and care for children with complex health care needs. She is a nationally recognized leader in medical education whose work centers on innovation, systems thinking and the design of transformative faculty development programs. She is passionate about advancing medical education through program creation, process improvement, mentoring and scholarly contribution.
A program architect at heart, King integrates identity formation, leadership development, clinical reasoning and systems-based thinking into educational initiatives that support meaningful, sustainable professional growth. She co-designed and co-led two national faculty development programs through the Academic Pediatric Association—APEX and THRIVE—each grounded in adult learning theory, reflective practice, coaching-informed methodology and systems-level educational approaches.
King is a firm believer in lifelong learning and in developing environments where faculty can flourish, contribute and lead with purpose.
