SSM Partnership
Complete Your Required Nursing Courses in as Little as One Year
SSM has partnered with Saint Louis University as the preferred provider for online RN to BSN education. SSM RNs can now complete their B.S. in Nursing degree – with SSM Tuition Reimbursement support – via SLU’s prestigious Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing.

Questions?
- SSM employees with an earned associate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college, passed the NCLEX-RN exam and have obtained their RN license.
- SLU will accept all college-level transfer courses (nursing and general education courses) taken at accredited community colleges and four-year institutions and for which grades of “C” or better were earned.
- SLU will award all students 38 credits for having passed the NCLEX-RN exam.
- All credits (up to 120) will count toward your SLU degree completion.
- SLU Core: The number of SLU University Undergraduate Core (“general education”) courses needed will vary depending on your transfer credits. You’ll need to take at least six credits of SLU core courses.
- Nursing Core: There are eight nursing courses (totaling 24 credits) needed to complete the nursing major. Your nursing major courses can be completed in just two semesters if you are full time.
- The flexible curriculum enables you to spread the coursework over several years to maximize tuition remission.
- At graduation, you’ll have completed a total of 120 credits – including your transfer credits, NCLEX credits, SLU core courses and SLU nursing core courses.
- SLU tuition for this preferred SSM partnership program is set at just $350 per credit hour.
- The total cost of the program will vary by student, depending on your transfer credit(s).
- Eligible students can use up to $4,200 per year of SSM’s tuition reimbursement benefits.
- You will never get a bill from SLU. SLU will bill SSM directly for all tuition charges. For SLU tuition and fees above your SSM tuition-reimbursement limit, SLU will bill SSM – and then SSM will use payroll deductions to recover their costs.
- You will purchase required books and materials directly yourself; rental textbooks are available.
- The only part of the program that is not 100% online is the completion of a direct practice experience in the community project course, which can be completed where you live or work.
- Direct practice experiences are an accreditation requirement of all post-licensure programs. This is scheduled around your SSM work to make completing your degree as convenient as possible.
- Apply online - there is no application fee.
- Once you indicate your interest in the online RN-BSN program, you’ll be prompted to enter your place of employment for our preferred SSM Cohort Program.
- Have all your official college transcripts sent directly (typically electronically) to SLU.
