From the Edward Jones Dean - April 2020

In these unprecedented times I am truly grateful for the community of Saint Louis University students, faculty and staff. Over the past month we have worked diligently to transition to distance learning and provide assurances that our students have the support they need for their continued success. Additionally, our faculty and staff have reached out to support the workers of SLU that have been unduly impacted by the epidemic. The transition to this new way of educating occurred nearly overnight, and our Chaifetz School community has worked tirelessly to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

Beyond the impressive work of those here at the Chaifetz School, our larger SLU family has truly lived out the university belief in "higher purpose, greater good." Whether it be through investigational development of COVID-19 treatment, Dr. Terri Rebmann’s webinar for nurses or President Pestello’s regular email updates, Saint Louis University has been unmatched in its efforts to mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

And despite these challenging weeks, we have plenty of good news to share: our supply chain management students placed fifth at a national competition; Professor Fred Niederman, Ph.D., has been named editor-in-chief of a top academic journal; and the Chaifetz School continues to rank in the top 15 nationally for graduate study of entrepreneurship, international business and supply chain management according to U.S. News and World Report's 2021 Best Graduate School rankings

I look forward to sharing this good news and more in this month’s newsletter, and I wish health and peace to you and your loved ones.

Regards,

Scott Duellman, Ph.D. Scott Duellman, Ph.D.
