New Global Business Club Aims to Transform University Life, Foster Innovation
04/01/2025
The Global Business Club at Saint Louis University-Madrid is proud to announce its official launch, marking the conclusion of a dynamic two-part, two-day hackathon that brought together 20-plus dedicated students. These students, who devoted their Friday afternoons to brainstorming and developing the “Club of Clubs,” have set the foundation for a student-led initiative that aims to reshape the university experience.
More than just a business-oriented organization, the Global Business Club goes beyond developing professional skills. Its mission is to foster a vibrant and engaging university environment by creating lasting organizations that serve as pillars of collaboration, networking and innovation. By uniting students from all majors and years, the club cultivates a community where shared experiences and knowledge transform university life into something truly memorable.
The governance of the Global Business Club is structured to ensure autonomy and creativity while maintaining a strong collaborative framework. At the helm is the president, overseeing club leaders — also known as vice presidents — who manage their own sectors within the business landscape. These club leaders have the freedom to explore various branches of business, fostering specialized yet interconnected communities.
In its inaugural year, the Global Business Club is launching with five branches:
- Women in Business, led by Chloe Nascimbeni
- Fashion Industry, led by Carolina Brenner
- Investment, led by Alexander Hillard
- Sports Management, led by Carlos Lindo
- Real Estate, led by De'Von France
To ensure smooth operations and strategic growth, the club also includes key leadership roles:
- Communications officer Ilinca Ignat
- Treasurer Gianna Sparks
Leading the Global Business Club as its first president is Migue Cordero, who will work alongside the club leaders to guide the organization in fulfilling its mission. By pooling resources, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and supporting student-driven initiatives, the Global Business Club is set to become a cornerstone of university life.
This initiative represents an exciting step forward for students seeking to make a lasting impact. With an emphasis on leadership, innovation, and practical experience, the Global Business Club is poised to become a transformative force within the university community.
The Global Business Club has an exciting lineup of events planned for the future, including:
- Main Campus Collaborations: Strengthening ties with business clubs and organizations from main campus to create cross-campus networking and learning opportunities.
- Guest Speaker Series: Inviting industry professionals and successful entrepreneurs to share their insights and experiences with students.
- Job-Seeking Workshops: Providing career development resources, including resume-building sessions, mock interviews, and networking events with recruiters.
- Industry-Specific Panels: Hosting discussions with experts from various business sectors to provide students with real-world knowledge and insights.
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competitions: Encouraging students to pitch and develop their own business ideas with mentorship from professionals.
