Through the generosity of AccessLex Institute, Saint Louis University School of Law established a $25,000 emergency grant fund to provide limited financial assistance to enrolled law students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of temporary hardship related to an emergency situation.

The grant is part of a $5 million Law Student Emergency Relief Fund created by AccessLex Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping aspiring lawyers find their path to professional success. With $25,000 grants to ABA approved law schools, the funding will provide direct resources to law students during this unique time.

The SLU LAW funds are immediately available and are being administered by Jessica Seavers in the office of student financial services.

“We pursued this grant because many of our students are facing economic hardships during this health crisis, such as loss of employment or unexpected expenses,” said Seavers. “As part of our mission, we feel it is so important that we support our students by reducing financial stress in any way that we can. We hope these grants will help ensure their continued access to legal education.”

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the funds are depleted.*

*As of May 18, 2020 all of the funds have been distributed to SLU LAW students.
