Students most often study abroad during their sophomore or junior years; transfer students must spend at least one semester at SLU-Madrid before applying to go abroad.

Discuss your study abroad plans with your academic advisor as early as possible to determine which semester is best and which courses you should take abroad. You must inform your academic advisor a semester or a year prior to the semester you intend to study abroad, as spaces in many programs may be limited.

GPA requirements vary per program. Most institutions require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
