Favorite part about SLU dermatology: Well-rounded subspecialty representation and well-rounded mentors (nationally-known but highly accessible; they push you and care about your success).
If I were a dermatology diagnosis, I would be: Erythema gyratum repens, because hands-down coolest rash in derm (minus the malignancy part).
Moment you first saw yourself as a dermatologist: When I met a Sezary syndrome patient undergoing ECP on a transfusion medicine rotation.

Favorite part about SLU dermatology: I love spending time with my co-residents both in and outside of the clinic. We all have a great dynamic and I always look forward to our weekly happy hours after resident clinic. I also love how supportive the faculty is with my research and clinical interests.
If I were a dermatology diagnosis, I would be: Pityriasis rosea because I love all things Christmas related.
Moment you first saw yourself as a dermatologist: When I found myself more interested in reading most about the dermatology-related patient cases during my medicine rotation.

Moment you first saw yourself as a dermatologist: The day I saw an erythodermic patient while on an elective dermatology rotation during my first year of internal medicine residency.

If I were a dermatology diagnosis, I would be: Lichen striatus (as if I’m following a running/hiking trail outdoors!)
Moment you first saw yourself as a dermatologist: While seeing the confidence boost of a young patient with severe atopic dermatitis who had previously failed multiple therapies and improved gradually over the course of years.

Favorite part about SLU dermatology: My awesome co-residents! With the immense amount of clinical experience we get here, I know I will be more than prepared for practice after I graduate.
If I were a dermatology diagnosis, I would be: Allergic contact dermatitis — it may require some Nancy Drew style detective work to figure me out!
Moment you first saw yourself as a dermatologist: During my IM rotation as a third-year med student when our team diagnosed HIV in a patient presenting with disseminated zoster I realized how cool it is to be able to take one look at the skin and use those clues to diagnose underlying systemic disease!
