Award nominations are open! Nominate a student or faculty member at Saint Louis University School of Medicine to receive recognition in the following programs.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the SLU School of Medicine is accepting nominations for multiple awards that we give out annually. Please submit your nominations by March 15, 2024.

Student Awards (Graduating Seniors)

  • The John H. Gladney Award is awarded to a student who has contributed significantly to promoting and enhancing diversity in medical school. Criteria such as academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, demonstrated leadership, organizational and committee involvement, and domestic or international externship are used to select the recipient.   • The Michael T. Railey Will You Remember Award is awarded to a student who demonstrated a consistent leadership and mentorship theme in their class. The individual exemplified service to the school throughout their time at SLU. The award winner is eager to give back through mentoring and sponsorship in remembrance of the support they received as a student. Submit your nomination here.
  • The Daniel L. Blash Humanitarian Award is awarded to a student who has impacted the School of Medicine community and the community we serve. The student who receives this award is an overcomer and humanitarian. They demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, exemplary leadership skills, dedication to community service, and a strong sense of spiritual commitment. This student believes in supporting their community while fostering an environment of diversity and belonging. Submit your nomination here.

Diversity Ally Award

The Diversity Ally Award is open to all stakeholders at SLU SOM. Nominate faculty, staff, residents, fellows, or students who have gone above and beyond in working to make SLU SOM a more inclusive place to be. Submit your nomination here.
