Chair's Welcome Message
On behalf of the faculty, residents, and staff of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head
and Neck Surgery at Saint Louis University, I welcome you to our website. This year
is a very exciting one for the University, celebrating our 200th Anniversary. There
have been a series of excellent events, kicked of by Mass under the Arch in Fall 2017
and continuing with multiple events throughout 2018. Consistent with our Jesuit mission
of serving others, the University has been tracking the number of service hours this
year with a goal of exceeding 200 years of cumulative time. We are on track to exceed
that goal by a wide margin!
Additionally, in 2018 the department celebrates our 65th year as an accredited residency training program. As part of that celebration we had our Inaugural Alumni Society Weekend in Saint Louis. It was an excellent weekend and you can learn more about it on the Alumni website. Watch that page and your email for our Alumni Newsletter. We look forward to seeing our Alumni at Academy this fall and our next Alumni Society meeting in January 2020.
We are on track for a record number of publications within the Department this calendar year, led by Dr. Nosa Osazuwa-Peters and his Epidemiology Division. The Department is striving to be a leader in Population Health Research, with multiple national presentations and publications. Please visit our research page to see all the exciting new endeavors.
The department has had significant growth in the Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Division with the full integration the cosmetics practice of Frank Simo MD, Scott Walen MD, and their team. With the opening of our new location in Creve Couer, we have integrated Facial Plastics and our former Mercy offices. We are now practicing in a new state of the art office on North New Ballas Road. Explore what our cosmetic practice office has to offer.
Resident interview season is underway and we look forward to meeting the future of the department. Our current residents are a close-knit group. Follow their adventures (and the department) on Instagram @SLU.ENT .
