Program Overview

The SLU Diagnostic Radiology program provides comprehensive training in radiology in a subspecialized academic setting. We are committed to a culture focusing on clinical excellence, patient safety, and superior resident education. Our program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We have a total of 24 residents with 6 residents in each class and an additional DR/IR resident every year, making it 28 residents total. Resident training takes place at four major area hospitals:

Through progressive responsibility, residents acquire the skills to accurately and efficiently interpret imaging studies and perform image-guided procedures across all modalities. Rotations are four weeks long and include general diagnostic imaging, pediatrics, neurological CT, body CT, neurological MR, body MR, ultrasound, musculoskeletal, cardiac, obstetrics, breast, body procedures, interventional and nuclear medicine. We have a total of 28 diagnostic radiology residents. We also offer an ACGME approved ESIR pathway (1 position per year).

We moved to new Grand New SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital September 1, 2020.

We are conducting virtual open houses during the application and interview season to provide interested applicants an opportunity to talk with our residents.
