Catherine Wittgen is a tenured full professor who is board certified in general surgery,
surgical critical care and vascular surgery. She is responsible for the training of
medical students, residents and fellows, and she is an active member of the medical
staff at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital
- St. Louis, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and John J. Cochran Veterans
Hospital.
Wittgen was the first woman to receive vascular surgery fellowship training at Harvard
Medical School.
