Graduate Assistantships and Fellowships

The Saint Louis University School of Science and Engineering offers a variety of funding opportunities to admitted, degree-seeking graduate students in good standing. For fellowships and other funding opportunities at the University level, please visit Saint Louis University's Graduate Scholarships, Fellowships and Assistantships page.

Graduate Assistantships

The School of Science and Engineering offers a variety of assistantships, ranging from programs that provide only graduate tuition to a full assistantship that includes a monthly stipend, health insurance, and graduate tuition.

Current and newly admitted School of Science and Engineering graduate students may be eligible for an assistantship if they are classified (degree-seeking) students in one of our M.S. or Ph.D. programs in engineering or aviation science. Students conducting research receive priority.

The application includes a short form, your resume/CV, a short statement of justification, and a letter of support and commitment from a graduate faculty advisor. A multidisciplinary faculty panel will review your assistantship application and all other documentation. If you receive an assistantship, you will be contacted via email later in the spring.

All inquiries should be directed to ssegrad@slu.edu

Graduate Fellowships

Graduate fellowships may be awarded to full-time School of Science and Engineering graduate students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement and potential for success in their graduate and research programs. Each recipient may use their award for tuition, health care, SLU accommodation and research needs. Limited stipends may be allowed.

To apply, use the Scholarship Suite application under the "Tools" tab at myslu.slu.edu.

To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. or international graduate degree-seeking students who have completed at least one semester of graduate studies by May 20 and maintain a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA.

Applicants must submit a resume that includes their academic achievement with GPA, past work experience, extracurricular activities and achievements (including all University- and college-level student group involvement) and any professional organization memberships, a one-page essay on their research interest and goals and two letters of recommendation (one from a School of Science and Engineering graduate research advisor).
