Social Work, B.S. (Saint Louis University) to Social Work, M.S.W.

Eligible high-achieving students will be automatically accepted into our selective accelerated program during their junior year of study. This accelerated program allows students to earn a B.S. in social work in four years and a Master of Social Work with just one additional year of study.

Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Currently in second semester of junior year in the B.S.S.W. program
  • Minimum overall/cumulative GPA of 3.00
  • Bs or better in all B.S.S.W. courses
  • Room in senior year schedule for master-level courses

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and meeting the admissions requirements of the M.S.W. program, students can begin the M.S.W. program during the summer or fall following their May graduation.

The M.S.W. program is then completed within three semesters (summer, fall and spring; or fall, spring and summer). Students considering this option need to carefully plan their schedules with their academic advisor and Bachelor of Science in Social Work program director.

Undergraduate students may take up to 12 credits of the following graduate courses in their senior year. These credits will count for both the B.S.S.W. and the M.S.W. degrees.
