What Students are Saying

My internship showed me the different sides of being a forensic analyst, ranging from spending time in the lab, on scenes, testifying in court, and even the desk work. I learned that I could see myself doing this as a career and really enjoying it. I also really appreciated getting to know the people at the lab and learning from their own experiences and stories.

Rosslyn Garbarini, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Crime Laboratory

Before my internship I was really close to switching my major. After the first day of my internship I knew I was on the right path and was so reassured of my career path. During this internship I worked with some of the most amazing people who had so much information to offer.

Emma Pees, Illinois State Police Troop 8

Doing my internship during the summer of 2024 with the St. Louis County medical examiner's office was a great experience, not only to make connections, but also to see real life examples of how death investigation goes on. I loved all the people I was working with and the chief medical examiner was very flexible with my schedule. Getting to witness autopsies and going out onto actual crime scenes was by far the highlight of my summer.
