With a limited number of spots available each year, only the top finance students in the Chaifetz School are admitted into the Saint Louis University Applied Portfolio Management (APM) program. Gabriela Antova

Gabriela Antova

Gabriela is working towards a degree in finance with a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation in May 2024, she plans to pursue an MBA and obtain the CFA certification. Apart from being a finance student, Gabriela is also a professional chess player and part of the University chess team. She is a Woman Grandmaster (WGM) and a member of Bulgaria’s Women’s Olympic team. She is a five-time medalist from the European youth championships and World Rapid Online University champion with SLU.

Lexy BrumitLexy Brumit

I am a current senior pursuing a degree in finance with a concentration in financial analysis. Having received my associate degree in high school, I will be graduating three semesters early and receive my bachelor’s at 20 years old. After graduation, I intend to start working in the finance industry while pursuing a CFA certification. I am seeking roles in financial analysis, portfolio management, and investment banking.

Jack BurkeJack Burke

I am a finance and accounting student here at SLU. I am currently exploring my opportunities that strike my interests in both finance and accounting. I have been fortunate enough to be a tax intern at Martz & Wilson, LLP and UHY LLP over the past two spring semesters. I have also been voted in as the VP of finance for the Club Ultimate Frisbee team here at SLU.

Carson CornettCarson Cornett

I am a SLU senior studying finance with a real estate concentration and Mandarin Chinese. My passion for finance and my desire to gain real-world experience led me to secure a valuable internship that shaped my career trajectory. 

My internship as a credit analyst at Enterprise Bank & Trust deepened my understanding of financial analysis and risk management. Here, I honed my ability to assess creditworthiness, analyze financial statements, and make informed lending decisions. I took pride in being part of a team that played a pivotal role in supporting the financial needs of businesses and individuals.

Beyond my internships, I am driven by a thirst for knowledge and continuous improvement. I actively seek opportunities to expand my horizons and stay updated on the latest developments in the field of finance as well as Chinese language and culture. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I am committed to staying at the forefront of my fields of study.

Anna DereckaAnna Derecka

I am a senior at Saint Louis University majoring in finance and economics. I was on the Women's Tennis Team during my freshman and sophomore year. I am currently working as an equity research intern at Kennedy Capital Management. I started this internship at the beginning of this year and was able to work on various projects involving stock market and company-specific research. I am also a mathematics and economics tutor at the Student Success Center.

Lea DevantierLea Devantier

Lea Devantier is pursuing a double major in economics and finance. In the summer of 2023, she interned with Visa Inc. in their Berlin office, broadening her skills in the banking and payments space. As a research assistant in the Department of Economics, she demonstrates her analytical acumen alongside faculty. Lea is also an active member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society and engages in the international affairs committee of the Student Government Association. Upon graduation in May 2024, Lea is planning to pursue a master’s degree in economics.

Omar FaruqueOmar Faruque 

I am a student at Saint Louis University, beginning to look for roles in the financial industry. I am intrigued by the way math, economics, and computer science can be used to solve financial problems and would love to help people and organizations achieve their goals. I have completed an internship with Commerce Bank in Clayton, Missouri, in Summer of 2023 where I worked closely with the credit analysis team as well as branching out to many different areas of the bank to learn the ins and outs of commercial as well as private banking. I also had the opportunity to rotate through the Trust Company of Commerce where I was able to meet with investment executives and feel like that is where most of my interest lies within finance. Within SLU I am also a part of intramural soccer and I am an academic tutor for finance, accounting, and math.

Liberty GammLiberty Gamm

I am from Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and I am currently pursuing a major in finance. My academic accomplishments have secured me a place on the Dean's List and an esteemed membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Business School Society. I possess a deep passion for both law and finance, and I am a part of the Business Scholars and Law Scholars Programs.

Currently, I serve as a legal intern in the warrant office at the St. Louis City Circuit Attorney’s Office. During the summer of 2023, I worked at Sher & Shabsin, P.C., a law firm in St. Louis specializing in landlord-tenant cases and arbitration. Additionally, from August 2022 to 2023, I assumed the role of an accounting, economics, and finance tutor at Saint Louis University. In this capacity, I worked one-on-one with students to create a supportive environment that empowered them to identify and achieve their academic goals.
My leadership roles encompass serving as the vice president of the Saint Louis University Finance Club and as the treasurer of the Economics Club.

Hannah GaoHannah Gao

Hannah is a senior majoring in finance and business analytics and minoring in human resource management and service leadership. This past summer, Hannah interned at KPMG in technology assurance audit. She also has experience in banking and estate planning. On campus, Hannah serves as the panhellenic affairs vice president for Gamma Phi Beta and is a part of Delta Sigma Pi, Service Leadership, and Beta Gamma Sigma. Additionally, she serves as an ambassador for the business school. Graduating in May, Hannah will join NISA Investment Advisors as a client service analyst.

Luke HarasLuke Haras

Luke is pursuing a degree in finance with a concentration in financial analysis. In the summer of 2023, Luke interned at Metropolitan Capital Bank in Chicago as a wealth management intern. Outside of APM, Luke is the president of SLU's Finance Club and is a member of Sports Business Association. Upon graduation, he plans on pursuing a career as an equity or investment analyst, and is committed to achieving a CFA certification.

Mark IndelicatoMark Indelicato 

My name is Mark Indelicato, and I am a finance major within the financial analysis concentration. I have always found equity analysis to be a very unique study in many ways. I have passed my Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam while interning at Charles Schwab, where I also assisted clients over the phone with their accounts. I plan to pursue my CFA certification as well. I am also the treasurer of the SLU Club Lacrosse team.

Kasra NassirpourKasra Nassirpour

Kasra is pursuing degrees in finance with a concentration in financial analysis, as well as economics. He has held past internships with Sikich in public accounting, Kennedy Capital Management in Equity Research, and Stifel, as a public finance summer intern. He has a strong interest in financial markets, with the goal of working in an analytical position upon graduation and earning his CFA. Outside of school, he is an avid runner and weightlifter, and the VP of finance for his fraternity.

George Shanidze

I am currently pursuing a double major in finance and economics. Over the summer of 2023, I worked at the Bank of Georgia as a corporate banking intern. And over the summer of 2022, I worked at Ernst & Young as an audit intern. Last semester, I worked as a student-athlete tutor, and I am currently working part-time with a fintech startup company based in San Francisco.

Josh WeinrebJosh Weinreb

Josh is a senior pursuing a major in finance and a minor in computer science. During his summer break two years ago, he worked as a marketing intern at Lakeshore Beverage. Last summer, he worked at Skyward Logic where he was a WordPress and machine learning intern. Currently, Josh is a research assistant in the finance department gathering returns data on REITs. He is currently exploring opportunities in the fintech industry following graduation in the spring of 2024.
