SSE Events
From the first days of Welcome Week to the final days before graduation, Saint Louis University's School of Science and Engineering hosts events that foster innovation, connect peers and amplify lessons learned in the classroom.
Innovation Challenges
How many pounds of sand can a cardboard and duct tape bridge hold? That’s just one of the questions that SSE students have faced in the school’s innovation challenge series, which challenges students to answer unconventional questions. Each month, teams of students compete for cash prizes by getting creative, applying skills learned in the classroom and, of course, having a little fun. Cash prizes are awarded to the top teams. Students of all majors are invited to join.
Upcoming challenges include a Halloween pumpkin carving contest in October and a gingerbread house competition in December.
Engineers Week
Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, Engineers Week
(EWeek) is dedicated to spotlighting the impact of the engineering profession and
encouraging future generations of engineers.
Every February, the Saint Louis University School of Science and Engineering holds
a series of events in celebration of EWeek, including innovation challenges, giveaways,
guest speakers, networking events and more.
The 2027 EWeek will be held Feb. 22-27.
