Frances Ue, M.D. '16

Dr. Frances Ue, Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Cambridge Health Alliance and Instructor at Harvard Medical School, was featured in a column called "Diagnosis." The New York Times Magazine highlighted a unique case in which a patient with severe flu-like symptoms was admitted to CHA Cambridge Hospital. CHA hospitalist Frances Ue, M.D., MPH, discussed the challenges of identifying the cause of his sickness and detailed the numerous steps she took to care for the patient and support his recovery. After prescribing a battery of tests and surveying medical literature, she referred him to a neurologist, who ultimately diagnosed a CPT2 deficiency, an exercise-induced issue. The piece highlights exceptional and integrated care that led to a positive patient outcome.
