Match Day 2026

Fourth-year Saint Louis University School of Medicine students will participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) on Friday, March 20. This pivotal day marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance for our medical students as they learn where they will continue their journey as physicians.

Match Day Overview

Match Day is a highly anticipated event where medical students across the country simultaneously open their envelopes to discover their residency placements. This moment is a rite of passage, signifying the transition from medical student to resident physician. It's a day filled with excitement, joy and anticipation for the future.

8 a.m.: Registration and breakfast

9:05 a.m.: Remarks

  • Opening remarks: Adam R. Merando, M.D., associate dean of student affairs
  • Opening prayer: James F. Duffy, S.J., M.D., associate dean for the clinical curriculum
  • Student speech: Neha Gupta and Maria Nash, co-presidents of the class of 2026
  • Remarks from the dean: Christine K. Jacobs, M.D., dean and vice president for medical affairs
  • Remarks from Chad S. Miller, M.D., senior associate dean of undergraduate medical education
  • Review of the Class of 2026: Hiral Choksi, M.D., associate dean of admissions
  • Explanation of the match: Adam R. Merando, M.D., associate dean of student affairs
  • A toast to the Class of 2026: Timothy Havens, M.D., division chief of emergency medicine

9:55 a.m.: Recognition of students

  • Judee Renner-Sliment, program coordinator in the Office of Student Affairs
  • Chris Meyer, year 4 coordinator in the Office of Curricular Affairs

11 a.m.: Opening of envelopes
