Degree Programs and Pathways

SLU LAW’s J.D. program offers extensive courses and personalized interaction with nationally recognized professors. You’ll be directly exposed to practicing attorneys and clients through professional skills courses, SLU legal clinics and externship programs. Guest speakers who have diverse legal backgrounds and career experience — ranging from federal and state judges to partners, associates and corporate executives — provide students with a real-world approach to learning.

In addition to offering part-time and full-time J.D. options, Saint Louis University School of Law offers a two-year J.D. for foreign lawyers, 11 dual-degree programs in collaboration with other schools at SLU and several concentration options.

3 + 3 Program

SLU LAW has partnered with select undergraduate institutions to provide a 3+3 program to students interested in pursuing their law degree. Through this program, students are eligible to apply to law school in their junior year. They will complete three years of undergraduate course work and three years of law courses, with the first year of law courses satisfying the requirements for the bachelor’s degree. This program allows students to graduate with their bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate in six years, saving the student tuition and time. More information

Transfer of Credit Earned Outside of SLU LAW

Transfer applicants must produce evidence of satisfactory study in an ABA-accredited or provisionally accredited law school and be eligible to continue at the school from which the transfer is sought. SLU LAW will review an application for transfer based upon completion of the first semester of law school. We will consider accepting a maximum of 30 hours of credit toward the J.D. from another law school, and we will consider accepting course grades of at least a C or its equivalent. More information
