The MOMs Clinic

The Department of Family and Community Medicine's MOMs Clinic supports families through life transitions — specifically during the perinatal period.

About Us

The MOMs (Making Optimal Mental health care) Clinic was founded in response to data: One in three African American women at SLUCare-affiliated hospitals and clinic screened positive for depression at their initial prenatal health care visit, but lacked a mental health referral or resources. The clinic was formed to offer Black maternal mental health services and now offers expanded care to all birthing persons, parents and families in need.

In-person and telehealth services are provided by master's and doctoral students studying couples and family therapy, clinical psychology and social work. All therapists are supervised by a licensed professional.
