Whether you pursue pathology or another medical discipline, the knowledge and experience provided by this program will be profound. And, in contrast to medical school, it does not cost anything; in fact, you get a stipend.

Program Overview
The post-sophomore fellowship in pathology is a full-time one-year course of study. It offers SLU medical students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of disease mechanisms and explore a career in pathology.
- Resident-Style Immersion: Function as a junior member of the pathology team, participating in service, conference and teaching activities like those of a first-year resident.
- Hands-On Service: Perform supervised autopsies and examine surgical specimens.
- Customized Training: Engage in training tailored to your individual needs.
- Subspecialty Electives: Choose focused rotations in various pathology subspecialties.
- Research: Pursue diverse opportunities in both clinical and experimental pathology.

The fellowship program typically offers two positions each year. Fellows receive a $22,000 stipend along with travel and book allowances.
Applications are accepted until the positions have been filled. Candidates must have completed their second or third year at Saint Louis University School of Medicine before starting the fellowship.
