How much is the graduate application fee to Saint Louis University?

SLU's application portal does not require an application fee. If you are using a centralized application service like SOPHAS, ATCAS, CSDCAS, HAMPCAS, etc., you will be required to pay the application fee charged by these centralized services. 

How do I find out the status of my graduate admission application?

You can check your application status by logging into your SLU application account. If you applied using a service such as SOPHAS, AMCAS and others, please return to your original application system.

Can I apply to more than one program?

Yes. The University offers several pre-approved dual degree programs. SLU also considers any requests to enroll in two programs and pursue multiple degrees at the same time on a case-by-case basis.

Contact the departments of both programs to determine the eligibility and policies for concurrent enrollment. If you wish to pursue a dual degree, you will need to apply to and be accepted by both degree programs.

Can I send my supporting documents, such as letters of recommendation and transcripts, separately from my application?

We accept documents sent separately; however, we are able to process applications more quickly when an application has been submitted with all its supporting documents. What is Saint Louis University's institution code for submitting GRE scores?

SLU's institution code is 6629, and test scores should be submitted electronically by the testing organization to the University.

What is the minimum GRE score required for graduate admission?

Each department has different requirement standards for graduate admission tests such as the GRE. Contact the individual program or department for specific information regarding test scores and other admission requirements.

Can I apply to a graduate program with unofficial copies of university transcripts or GRE scores?

Some graduate programs will review applications for admission with unofficial transcripts. Please reach out to the department or Graduate Admission directly at graduate@slu.edu to confirm. Official transcripts will be required to register for coursework at SLU.

I received my undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University. Do I still need to send my transcripts to the Graduate Admission office?

No. If Saint Louis University is indicated on your education history during the application process, the Office of the Registrar will automatically send a copy of your transcript.

Do I need to send transcripts from every college I have previously attended?

Yes. We will need all transcripts from all previous colleges or universities attended.

Assistantships are awarded by individual programs or departments and usually require you to assist with teaching, research or other departmental duties. As part of your application, you’ll be asked to indicate whether you are interested in an assistantship, but you should also check with your program to see if any additional application is required. The program or department can provide you with details on the availability of assistantships.

Fellowships are awarded to newly accepted master's or doctoral level students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement and potential for success.

International Student Admission

How much is the graduate application fee to Saint Louis University for international students?

Who do I contact with questions about my visa?

SLU’s Office of International Services can assist you with questions regarding your visa. For questions about your application or the admission process more generally, contact your graduate admission counselor.

Do I have to submit the Declaration of Finances Form before being accepted?

No, but submitting your declaration of finances when you apply will expedite the processing.

What are the minimum TOEFL scores to be considered for admission?

A score of at least 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or at least 80 on the internet-based TOEFL is required for admission. Some graduate programs may require a higher score for English proficiency. Check the listing for your degree program for specific requirements.

The IELTS or PTE can also be used to demonstrate your English language proficiency. Unless you have previously attended a college or university in the United States, scores from one of these tests must be submitted electronically for your application to be considered.
