Data Science
Data Science at Saint Louis University is a rigorous, interdisciplinary undergraduate degree co-administered by the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the Department of Computer Science.
Your Experience Will Include:
- Core coursework: Statistics, Machine Learning, and Databases with a rigorous Mathematics and Computer Science background
- Flexible electives: AI, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Time Series
- Capstone: Real-world project with faculty mentor required of each graduate.
What Makes Data Science at SLU Unique?
- Hands-on from the start. Courses like DATA 1800 and 2800 introduce real-world data early, and senior project courses (DATA 4961/4962) help you build a strong portfolio.

Where Do Our Graduates Go?
- In the 5 years of the program, 95% of graduates reported either a job offer or a grad school offer one month prior to graduation.
- About 30% of our graduates continue to graduate school in either data science or a related field.
- Many graduates work for companies with a strong St Louis connection such as Enterprise, Bayer, or Boeing.
