Spring Reflections at SLU School of Medicine
As we welcome the warmth and renewal of spring, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and optimism for the transformational progress of our School of Medicine. This season of growth and new beginnings is the perfect time to reflect on the remarkable strides we have made together and to share some exciting news.
I am thrilled to announce a $10 million transformative gift to the School of Medicine that will significantly enhance our educational mission. It is a tremendous recognition of the value of a SLU medical education, reflected in the generosity of our alumni and supporters.
Saint Louis University has proudly achieved the prestigious R1 status, joining an elite group of U.S. research universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation. This milestone highlights our unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge and health through research.
Additionally, I am proud to share that our School of Medicine received 8-year full reaccreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). This achievement, the result of thoughtful preparation, attention to detail, and tremendous teamwork of our medical faculty and staff, underscores our commitment to curricular excellence and support of our medical students.
I am excited about our path ahead. Together, we continue our tradition of training excellent clinicians and scientists, upholding our Jesuit mission of service to our community, even as we transform to adapt to our changing world. Thank you for your steadfast support and for being an integral part of our SLU School of Medicine family.
Sincerely,
Christine K. Jacobs, M.D.
