Academic/Advanced Clinical Research Fellowship

The SSM Health/Saint Louis University School of Medicine Academic/Advanced Clinical Research Fellowship Program integrates research and clinical practice to enhance patient care and push the boundaries of medical knowledge.

A Message From the Program Director

Welcome to the Clinical Research Fellowship Program.

This position is ideal for aspiring GI/hepatology physician-researchers or physican-scientists. You'll be an integral part of a dynamic team and report directly to the division director.

Half of your year will be dedicated to cutting-edge research in hepatology. These opportunities —  including being a lead researcher, co-investigator and presenter — will help you develop the skills necessary to conduct strong and demanding prospective clinical studies.

The second half of your year will be dedicated to hepatology-focused clinical practice. You'll treat up to eight patients per day in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, and you'll manage the schedule of rotating residents — experiences that will further evaluate your impact as a clinician and mentor.

Please reach out with any questions.
