Research at the School of Science and Engineering

Hands-on Research that Makes an Impact

Students and faculty at Saint Louis University's School of Science and Engineering are embarking on research that makes an impact and envisions a better world.

As early as your freshman year in the School of Science and Engineering, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in research. You’ll meet faculty with research interests that align with yours from machine learning to tissue regeneration to spacecraft fabrication and more. You’ll explore state-of-the-art spaces like our flight simulator or quantum lab. You’ll find peers who are driven by the same questions that drive you.

Our research crosses traditional disciplines with collaboration opportunities in schools across campus, expanding your knowledge and amplifying your impact. Explore drug discovery research with doctors in the School of Medicine. Partner with peers in the Chaifetz School of Business to take your next great tech idea and make it into reality. Work with researchers in the College for Public Health and Social Justice to find scientifically-proven ways to improve health outcomes.

What does research look like at the School of Science and Engineering? It could be integrated into coursework. It might take shape as informal lab assistance. It may come in the form of research assistantships. Whatever path leads you to your research goals, you'll be supported by faculty that believe in you, get real-world experience in lab spaces and find answers to solutions that might just have the power to change lives.
