2024 Faculty and Staff Voice Survey

October 21, 2024

Dear Saint Louis University faculty and staff,

On Monday, November 4, you will receive an invitation to complete the 2024 Faculty and Staff Voice Survey.

You may remember that we launched an updated Faculty and Staff Voice Survey last year.

With a shorter series of questions in an improved platform, the new Voice survey allowed us to hear and respond to employee feedback faster – and to facilitate response at the school, college or division level, where changes are more likely to improve your day-to-day experience.

Since then, the HR Bulletin has highlighted a number of changes made in academic and administrative units based on employee feedback.

These changes that were made – because of your voices – have led to more effective team communication and resources, recognition of individual accomplishments, increased opportunities for community building, and more.

Staff, in particular, also expressed a desire for more opportunities for growth in their careers at SLU. In response, our Division of Human Resources has introduced a number of career and professional development tools, including an upgraded and expanded library of online resources through the Skillsoft platform.

Along with our higher education peers across the country, SLU is navigating a period of change. I understand that the challenges we are facing can be a source of stress and uncertainty, and can have a negative impact on morale in the short and long term.

I also believe that we have the potential to emerge from these challenges as a stronger institution. To do so, we must continue to foster a culture in which faculty and staff are heard – and where you can learn, grow, and thrive.

The Voice survey is a way for you to influence positive change in your work environment and to shape the ways we support our employees across the institution.

Please keep an eye out for a survey invitation from survey@mail.us1.glintinc.com, and complete the survey when you receive it.

This year, more than ever, I value your voice and your many contributions to SLU.

With gratitude,

Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D.
