SLU Student Health Center

The Saint Louis University Student Health Center provides services by appointment. We see patients in our SLU clinic, but many of our services are also available through telehealth.

Student Health Center Hours

The Saint Louis University Student Health Center is open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, excluding University holidays. We remain open with limited services and clinic schedules during spring, fall and summer breaks.

All services are by appointment only, including nurse visits for immunizations, allergy injections, fit tests and drug screens.

After Hours and Emergency Care

In a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 immediately and arrange for ambulance transportation to the nearest hospital. For on-campus emergencies, call the Department of Public Safety at 314-977-3000.

SLU students have 24/7 access to nurse phone support and the opportunity to schedule telehealth services.

To reach our nurse advice line, call the same number, 314-977-2323, and press #9. They can give advice on how to care for your problem at home or direct you to an urgent care clinic for non-emergency care. They can also help you set up and schedule a telehealth appointment with our partner, MD Live. MD Live offers general health and counseling visits via telehealth. These visits are not billed through insurance and can provide care in all states. As of Sept. 17, there is no longer a $15 copay for these services.

Location and Parking

The Saint Louis University Student Health Center is on the ground floor of Marchetti Tower East, just south of the Busch Student Center. Our physical address is 3518 Laclede Ave, though the building address (advertised on the blue awning as you walk in) is 3520 Laclede; we are the suite directly to the left when coming from the Laclede entrance.

There are a few parking spaces reserved in the lot in front of Marchetti Towers for both Student Health and Physical Therapy. If you park in one of these spots, please bring your vehicle information, including license plate, to the front desk staff when you check in. If those spots are full, the nearest parking garage is the Laclede lot, half a block west of Grand Boulevard on Laclede Avenue.

About Our Services

The Saint Louis University Student Health Center offers a wide range of services, covering the basic cold to specialized care of preexisting medical conditions. We're here for you, whether it's a quick flu shot to keep you healthy, advice on vaccines before spending a semester abroad, or ongoing physical therapy to help you recover from an injury.

The SLU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry will offer assessments for attentional and learning concerns on Tuesdays. We can also assess symptoms of depression, anxiety and other emotional distress. We will make appropriate recommendations and referrals as needed. These assessments will be offered on a sliding scale fee. If you are interested in making an appointment, please call 314-977-4850.

Most services are billable to insurance, however, payment is owed at the time of service for drug screens, fit tests or pre-packaged pharmaceuticals. Drug screens are $45, and respiratory fit tests are $15.  If you do not want your insurance billed for services, ask us about setting up a self-pay option.
