Join Fine and Performing Arts for a special performance to kick off the St. Louis Gypsy Jazz Festival, at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, in Xavier Hall, Room 348.  

Festival organizer Ben Wood along with guest violin/mandolin player Jason Anick (Berklee College of Music) will discuss Roma culture, the origins and development of gypsy jazz and perform music by Gypsy Jazz legend, Django Reinhardt.  

One of the youngest instructors at Boston's Berklee College of Music, Jason Anick is considered "a rising star in the world of jazz violin and mandolin" (Downbeat Magazine).
