In this webinar at noon on Sept. 15, Professors Monica Eppinger and Chad Flanders will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected social justice issues in our country.

Church, State, and COVID-19
Professor Flanders will discuss the Supreme Court litigation around government lockdown orders for churches, and the constitutional issues presented therein.

Monica Eppinger, Co-Director, Center for International and Comparative Law; Associate Professor of Law
The Housing Impact of COVID-19
Professor Eppinger will discuss the link between the public health response of “staying at home” by examining eviction actions and rent strikes.

Kevin C. Curran (Law '78), Assistant Federal Public Defender, Eastern District of Missouri
Event Moderator
Kevin C. Curran has worked in various capacities for both the Missouri State Public Defender System and the Office of the Federal Public Defender. He also has served as an adjunct professor at SLU LAW and Washington University School of Law focusing on death penalty litigation and trial advocacy.
