Medical students at Saint Louis University will honor those who donated their bodies for medical education with a virtual interfaith memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, at Saint Francis Xavier College Church. Social distancing protocols and guidelines for gatherings restrict any guests from being present at the time of the service.
The service is organized by first-year medical students with the support of the Department of Campus Ministry and is led by faculty and staff from the Center for Anatomical Science and Education (CASE). The students read prayers, perform the music, create the artwork, and give personal reflections.
Each year, people donate their bodies to the School of Medicine's Gift Body Program through CASE to educate medical students, allied health students, residents and educators.
Families and loved ones will be able to view the ceremony as it is live-streamed from College by visiting the following websites.
