'Who Is My Neighbor? Answering Pope Francis's Call to Welcome Refugees'

St. Francis Xavier College Church will host the second 175th Anniversary Supper and Spirituality presentation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Xavier Ballroom on the lower level of the church.

Pope Francis has urged Catholics all over the world to welcome refugees to their communities and the theme for the program is “Who Is My Neighbor?  Answering Pope Francis's Call to Welcome Refugees.”

The evening will begin with prayer, followed by a shared meal, and the presentation which will include discussion and questions.

Dan White, S.J., pastor of College Church,  will begin by providing a brief history for this conversation, touching on why refugee resettlement matters to Catholics and our community. 

Blake Hamilton and Suk Sapkota of the International Institute will also be presenters.  Hamilton will provide information about the refugee resettlement process and how it works.  Sapkota will then share his personal experience with the resettlement process.

Everyone attending is asked to provide either a sandwich or bag of chips to share.  RSVP before Thursday, Nov. 3 by email to jmill123@slu.edu or scgilbert@earthlink.net
