'California Gig Battles: Now the Workers Want to Arbitrate?'

Tuesday, 24 August, 2021

Professor Michael Duff, University of Wyoming College of Law & visiting professor at SLU LAW, will present "California Gig Battles: Now the Workers Want to Arbitrate?" at noon on Aug. 24, in Scott Hall room 1066 and on Zoom.

In this presentation Prof. Duff will discuss how some enterprising attorneys discovered class action litigation-type impacts in an apparent wasteland of individual arbitration claims. It turns out that if all employees who can arbitrate tried to arbitrate, they might “break” arbitration under its own rules (unless employers change the rules).

Sponsored by the Wefel Center for Employment Law and the Employment Law Association.
