Neuro@Noon, the interdisciplinary Neuroscience Journal Club at Saint Louis University, will be held on Friday, February 3, 2022, in Schwitalla Conference Room M360.

Dr. Scott Zahm will be presenting an article entitled “Glutamatergic Ventral Pallidal Neurons Modulate Activity of the Habenula "Tegmental Circuitry and Constrain Reward Seeking”. That research studies a brain region called the Ventral Pallidum where activation of its neurons was blocked in animals during a behavioral test when the animals avoid a region of their cage. Ablation of these VP neurons increased reward responds by abolishing taste aversion.
